What is KYDEC?
KYDEC is the Kentucky Division of Early Childhood programs of the Kentucky Council of Exceptional children.
Purpose of KYDEC
The purpose of the Kentucky Division for Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children is to promote the welfare and education of exceptional children, prenatal through 8 years of age, and to promote the values, programs, practices, and resources of the Division for Early Childhood. Families, professional and paraprofessional personnel, students, and other persons interested in the education of exceptional children and youth are welcomed as members.

Nominations for 2017 KY DEC Outstanding Early Childhood Service Award
The Kentucky DEC is inviting nominations for the 2017 KY DEC Outstanding Early Childhood Service Award to be presented at the KY CEC Conference in November. The KY DEC Outstanding Early Childhood Service Award is presented annually to someone who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to young children with disabilities and their families. To nominate someone for this award, please provide the following information: Name of the nominee, reason for the nomination, and a summary of the nominee’s service to young children with disabilities and their families. All information must be sent by email to Sonia Michael (Sonia.email@example.com) no later than October 31st, 2017.
